An Ode to Time

An Ode to Time

Without time you would not know the year
You would not know the month or the day of the week
This is something we fear.

No schedule or a time for a date
We would have no calendar or clocks
This is something we would hate.

But we wouldn't fret and worry
We wouldn't hustle and hassle
Isn't this something, we would never hurry.

  1. Laurenna: You definitely want to take a look at the strategy of the example odes I included in the assignment guidelines. Most of them favor the long skinny line. Most of them hold up the item to much scrutiny. Most hold up the object as a means of describing and making comparisons about every last facet of the particular object. What images could you use to help a reader "see" the passage of time? For example, wrinkles on your grandma's hand = time passing. Another candle on the birthday cake = time passing. Etc.
